Ironheart Premieres June 24 on Disney+: Full Episode Schedule, & How to Add It to Your Calendar
You already know the Marvel formula. Explosions, one-liners, a mid credit tease you’ll forget in a week.
Ironheart is trying something else.
Set to debut on June 24, 2025, exclusively on Disney+, Ironheart is a 6-episode limited series starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a 19-year-old engineering prodigy from Chicago who builds a suit of armor more advanced than anything Tony Sark ever made.
The show picks up after her MCU. debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), where Riri was recruited by Shuri and thrown headfirst into Wakandan geopolitics. Now, she’s back in her own city, with her own story, and no royal safety net.
Magic vs. Metal
The twist? Her villain isn’t a tech bro. It’s The Hood; a street-level criminal played by Anthony Ramos, a mid-level criminal who stumbles across a mystical cloak and demonic powers that let him defy physics and raise serious moral questions.
That tension, science vs. mysticism, logic vs. chaos, makes Ironheart one of the first Marvel projects in a long time that feels like it actually has ideas beneath the action.
Ideas about:
- Power that isn’t inherited
- Technology that isn’t neutral
- And why a girl with a suit is more dangerous than a man with an empire
The Real Flex? It’s Set in Chicago
Unlike the celestial chaos of Loki or the multiversal absurdity of Doctor Strange, Ironheart brings Marvel back to Earth, Chicago specifically.
That choice isn’t aesthetic; it’s political.
- The show explores themes of community surveillance, urban inequality, and the consequences of unregulated technology.
- Riri’s designs aren’t just cool; they’re personal, built in response to the world she grew up in.
- The backdrop is real neighbourhoods, not digital skylines, and the stakes are personal, not planetary.
Ironheart doesn’t just reference culture, it is culture.
It knows the slang. It respects the silence. It lets things breathe.
This is Marvel stripped of ego and soaked in experience.
Think Moonlight with microprocessors. Dope with nanotech.
This isn’t Iron Man 2.0
This is Ironheart.
And it’s her time now.
Ironheart drops June 24, with three episodes on day one. The final three hit July 1.
