A Julian date is the day of the year: January 1 is 001 and December 31 is 365 (366 in a leap year). Print the classic one-page chart for 2027, 2026 or any year (perpetual), or 12 monthly pages with each day's number, and choose the code you write: DDD, YYDDD, military YDDD or YYYYDDD. You just need a Sync2Cal account to download it.
Today, Sunday, October 4, 2026, is day 277 of the year.

A Julian date is the number of the day within its year, counted from 001 on January 1. Food and drink plants stamp it on lot codes, the US military writes it on supply documents, and warehouses and older computer systems store dates this way because the gap between two days is a subtraction. The day number is written a few ways, depending on who uses it. Pick the one you need in the editor and it prints in every day.
| Code | Jan 1, 2027 | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| DDD | 001 | the day of the year on its own |
| YYDDD | 27001 | food lot codes, pharma and batch codes |
| YDDD | 7001 | military (DoD) document dates and some pack codes |
| YYYYDDD | 2027001 | warehouse, shipping and mainframe dates |
Today, October 4, 2026, is day 277 of the year: 26277 as YYDDD, 6277 as military YDDD and 2026277 as YYYYDDD (US Eastern time). The line at the top of this page shows it for your own clock.
2027 has 365 days, so its Julian dates run from 001 to 365. 2028 is the next leap year: February 29 is day 060 and December 31 is day 366.
Many food and drink makers print the production date as a Julian code. In YYDDD the first two digits are the year and the last three the day, so 27045 is day 045 of 2027, February 14. Some use YDDD, with only the last digit of the year (7045). It is usually the date the food was packed, not an expiry date.

The US military writes dates as YDDD: the last digit of the year and the day of the year, so January 1, 2027 is 7001. It appears in supply requisition numbers and on ration packs. Choose YDDD in the editor to print it in every day.
Type it into the converter at the top of this page, in any format, or find the number in the chart: each column is a month and each row a day of the month. For example 100 sits in the April column on day 10 in a common year, and day 9 in a leap year.
No. The Julian calendar is the older calendar some Orthodox churches still follow, now 13 days behind ours. A Julian date, as used in business, is simply the day of the year on today's (Gregorian) calendar.
No. Astronomers count Julian Days continuously from the year 4713 BC, so today's Julian Day is a seven-digit number in the millions. This calendar prints the day of the year, which is what food, military and shipping codes use.
Yes. Choose Perpetual under Year: one page with a chart for common years and one for leap years, each day numbered 001 to 365 or 366.
