Getting Started

Do event times show in my time zone?

Yes. Synced events show in your own time zone automatically. How it works in your calendar app, on the Sync2Cal website, when you travel, for TV shows, and for printable schedules.

Yes. Sync2Cal saves each timed event as an exact moment, not as a clock time in one place, and your calendar app shows it in your own time zone. A game that starts at 7:00 PM Eastern appears at 4:00 PM for someone on Pacific time. There is nothing to set up.

In your calendar app

Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Outlook show synced events in the time zone set in the app. Daylight saving changes are handled by the app as well, so start times stay correct when the clocks change.

If every event looks shifted by the same number of hours, the app or device is set to a different time zone than you expect. See wrong event times or timezone issues for the settings in each app, or how to change your time zone in Google Calendar.

On the Sync2Cal website

Calendar pages list upcoming events in your browser's time zone. To see the times somewhere else, use the Timezone selector on the calendar page, and choose Detect automatically to switch back. This only changes how times are shown on the website. It does not change the events in your calendar.

When you travel

Events follow the time zone your calendar app is using. On most phones that updates with your location, so game times move to local time when you land. On iPhone, Time Zone Override (in Settings, Calendar) keeps Calendar on one chosen time zone instead. Turn it off if you want times to follow your location.

Events without a start time

All-day events, such as holidays and many release dates, are tied to a date rather than a time, so they stay on the same date everywhere. A game can also show as all-day when only its date has been announced. See why a game shows as all-day or without a confirmed time.

TV shows

Some TV shows air at the same clock time in every US region, listed as something like 8/7c. For those, Sync2Cal places the episode at your region's airing time when we know your time zone, and at the Eastern broadcast time otherwise.

Printable schedules

When you print a schedule, pick the time zone in the print options under Timezone. It is detected automatically, and you can change it before you download. A printed copy cannot update, so a synced calendar is the better choice if start times may still change.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to set my time zone in Sync2Cal?⌄

Not for synced calendars. Your calendar app shows each event in its own time zone. The Timezone selector on the Sync2Cal website only changes how times are listed on the site.

Can I see game times in the venue's local time?⌄

Your calendar shows times in your own time zone. Google Calendar can also show a second time zone next to yours. See [how to change your time zone in Google Calendar](/help/change-time-zone-google-calendar).

Will times change when I travel?⌄

Yes, if your calendar app follows your location. Events are saved as exact moments, so they move to the local time wherever you are, unless your app is set to a fixed time zone.
