Wrong event times or timezone issues

Sync2Cal stores events in UTC; your calendar app converts them to your device's local timezone. If times look wrong, check your device timezone setting.

If event times look wrong, it is almost always a device timezone setting, not the event itself.

Sync2Cal stores every event in UTC (a universal time standard). Your calendar app (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook) then automatically converts each event to your device's local timezone. So a game listed at 4:25 PM Eastern shows as 1:25 PM for someone whose device is set to Pacific time — the same moment, shown in local time.

If event times look wrong:

  1. Check that your device timezone is set correctly. On iPhone: Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically. On Android: Settings > General Management > Date and Time. On Mac: System Settings > General > Date & Time.
  2. If you are travelling, your calendar app may still be showing times for your home timezone until your device updates.
  3. If the timezone is correct but times still look off, contact support and include the calendar name and the affected event date.
